First single I Feel It gave the world a taste of what to expect from Ole, Anders and Paal, the three twentysomething Norwegians who together form Lorraine. As the band head into an intensive month of UK touring, including appearances at the Wireless and T in the Park festivals, along comes a second slice of their debut album, slated for autumn release.
Transatlantic Flight doesn't hit the anthemic heights of its predecessor, preferring instead to give credence to those New Order / Pet Shop Boys comparisons. There's a melancholy edge to the lyrical description of boredom and hankering after a loved one left behind.
Glossily produced, to the detriment of guitar, this is decent, safe, slick fluff that certainly won't get indie rock children excited but should please fans of '80s electropop and keep building interest ahead of the album launch.
