We Throw Parties, You Throw Knives may sound like one of those unfeasibly long song titles so beloved of emo-types, but Los Campesinos! are very far from kohl-lined gloom-merchants.
In fact, this seven-piece from Cardiff have been getting the MP3 bloggers unfeasibly excited over the last few months, and this is their debut release on Wichita. An attention grabbing first line of "when you play pass the parcel with human body parts, somebody may get a head, but somebody will get hurt", and a glorious soaring chorus, every ingredient is mixed in to create one of the most intoxicating sounds you'll hear all year.
Quirky without being annoying, pure pop while maintaining an experimental edge (check the thrilling instrumental break in the middle of the song), Los Campesinos! could well become your favourite new band very soon.
