Is it me, or is commercial dance music on the up again? Since the Shapeshifters it seems there is plenty of room for vocal house anthems once more, and this monster takes ELO's Shine A Little Love and crafts it into a euphoric party tune.
Delve beneath the surface and you find that the brains behind Lovefreekz is Mark Hadfield, who has plenty of '90s previous as part of Loveland and Lucid, so he's no stranger to making a dance crowd happy. The following ingredients are present and correct – a filtered hook coming in from the background, strings swooping all over the place and a groove that won't be ignored.
This all means that once again Positiva supply a worthy Friday night tune, and Hadfield can add another hit to his increasingly lengthy CV.
