The hard work has paid off for Lucie Silvas,
who, after years of hovering round the edge of the
charts, has made a seemingly permanent breakthrough.
The advantage is that she can give a good live
performance, as witnessed this year on chat shows such
as Parkinson.
By my calculation this is the fourth single to come
off the Breathe In, and follows its predecessors
in its suitability for radio, covering as it does a
potential break up and its implications.
Silvas gives an assured performance, although this
is nowhere near as memorable as Breathe In or What You're Made Of. It does, however, confirm her standing
as a perfectly competent songwriter, and is unlikely
to harm her ever-increasing fan base.
