4 Minutes is the first single to be released from Madonna's upcoming Hard Candy album, which she co-wrote and duets with the current King of Pop Justin Timberlake.
Co-produced by the almighty Timbaland, it comes across as less of a Madonna single and more of a Timberlake-Timbaland stable track with Madonna's voice a happy incidental injection over the heavy Bhangra beats.
That said, this will definitely get Madonna the number one she so desperately craves from her 11th album, as it is a busy, fast-paced, foot-tapping hand-waving hit that is easy to dance to.
You will not only be dancing to this in the clubs, but you will also be worshiping Timbaland for creating yet another energetic tune, because without him 4 Minutes would run the risk of being stale and perhaps over-produced. Madonna tends to keep her finger on the pulse though, so it is doubtful we will ever be subjected to that.
Although Emo Madonna would have been a fun prospect...
