Back in 1996 The Bluetones knocked a certain What's The Story (Morning Glory) off the top of the album charts with one of the better Britpop offerings, Expecting To Fly. Twelve years on and with those heady days seeming a distant memory, lead singer Mark Morriss has decided to try his hand at going solo.
I'm Sick is a catchy little track with Morriss reembracing the upbeat pop sensibility that made The Bluetones so popular. Some Latin trumpets and a typically infectious chorus ensure that anyone who enjoyed the likes of Slow Return, Bluetonic and If will like this as well.
It doesn't tread any new ground but you never know, there might be a place for him in the revived Britpop-heavy music scene.
