Sunday Morning is the fourth track to be taken from Maroon 5's Songs About Jane album, UK sales of which have now surpassed the million mark. That in itself may dent sales but with all of the now familiar ingredients served up here - soulful vocals from Adam Levine, painfully catchy chorus, lovelorn lyrics - it is hard to imagine this piano-led production will be heading anywhere else other than the upper echelons of the top forty.

Their music may find itself marooned between credible Red Hot Chili Peppers territory and disposable pop-rock but there is always a melody or a hook to please the ear and brand itself in the memory. This time a light touch of jazz appeases the usual heavy-hearted lyrics to form yet another polished slice of bittersweet pop.

Sunday Morning should provide the LA-based quintet with the perfect end to a perfect year that has seen them rise from virtual unknowns to multi-platinum-selling stars and, on the strength of this, their success shows no sign of abating.
