Mase - Breathe, Stretch, Shake (Bad Boy)
UK release date: 8 November 2004
Mase - Breathe, Stretch, Shake
"This is what I sound like after five years" begins Mase, re-inventing himself as a rapper after a curious five year spell preaching. He goes on - "1999 and I was born again, five years later I'm on again." Like most rappers, Mase is not short on a spot of self belief, and enlists an army of vocalists to help proclaim his return.

And how - rather than come back with something like the loose funk of Feel So Good, the production budget has clearly gone sky high with a symphonic backing, and a more aggressive tone from Mase and his mate P Diddy. In fact the style is akin to Adam F, with plenty of posturing, hyped up vocals, a strong rhythm and a big orchestral sound.

It's a confident and assertive return to form from a rapper who has always had an instantly recognisable voice. If ye are the unconverted, give him a try!
