Okay. Taking off sarcy indie-goddess hat for a moment, let's be honest about this. Matt Willis is good. His debut album of the same name, from which this is taken, is full of eminently listenable numbers that deserve to do well in the charts and get endless play on Radio 2 and Heart FM.

He stands up well against that other former boy-band-come-gooder Ronan Keating, it's easy to draw comparisons with Will Young at his best (Leave Right Now springs to mind particularly) and there's a maturity to his voice and his approach that's both refreshing and unexpected, with enough emo left in there to straddle more than one camp and keep both sides happy. Who'da thunk it of him?

Go and buy it. Now. Meanwhile, I'm off to ATP's Nightmare Before Christmas to wash my ears out with Jackie-O Motherfucker and Wolf Eyes.
