The fourth single to be taken from McFly's debut album Room On The 3rd Floor, is the title track which is expected to reach the top spot this week. Often compared to Busted, McFly have tended to follow a less conventional route to Busted's 'we're rock' by dabbling in a Beach Boys and indie influenced sound.
Resembling a poppier version of Blur, Room On The 3rd Floor is another great release which showcases their songwriting ability and - laugh if you will - proves that they are a respectable band. Lyrically the topic of girls has been left well alone, for the time being anyway: "Guess its times like these remind me, that I've got to keep my feet on the floor" show the boys adopting a more personal and down-to-earth approach compared with Busted's encounter with a triple-breasted woman on Year 3000.
McFly know the formula on how to make good music - move over Busted 'cos it looks like we've found a better act to replace you (ones who can actually perform live...)
