There's seemingly no stopping the amusingly-coiffeured McFly boys - they're certainly the biggest boy band in the country at the moment, and they know enough about classic songwriting for a fair few adults to have a bit of a soft spot for them (even if they'd prefer to keep it quiet).
Star Girl is the usual McFly kind of single - a sunny, singalong chorus, big punchy production, and some nice harmonies. The lyrics are, sadly, rather inane being about Danny, Dougie and company searching for their love in space ("And I was afraid when you kissed me/On your intergalactical frisbee" - oh dear, oh dear), although surely the play on words of "there's nothing on Earth that could save us/When I fell in love with Uranus" is deliberate.
If you hate McFly, then you'll definitely hate this. Yet beneath all the cynical, pre-packaged boy band gargabe, there's something quite likeable about them which makes Star Girl a bit of a guilty pleasure. Don't say I told you though...
