It's karaoke time with Mclusky as they continue in their quest to become the Pixies. Alan is a Cowboy Killer has them working the quiet, LOUD, quiet, LOUD formula to great effect, and it's a great tune to mindlessly leap around to.

'Exciting Whistle-ah' takes the Frank Black mimicry to new levels - depending on your point of view, this isn't such a bad thing. But for 'Friends Stoning Friends' they've abandoned the quiet bits, opening with a buzzsaw guitar and pummelling through the song till it ends in a tuneless barrage of distorted guitars, crashing symbols, feedback and tuneless wailing from the singer. Just what the doctor ordered. The less said the better really about 'Random Celebrity Insult Generator', a pointlessly quirky ditty that really should have been left on the cutting room floor.

So there you go. Mclusky still yet to find their own voice, but at least they're making a decent bloody noise whilst looking for it.
