It's an easy picture to conjure up: four sexy girls dressed in denim jeans, wearing tight Motorhead or Ramones t-shirts with a bottle of lager in one hand and a cig in the other. McQueen are a deliciously feisty all-female quartet who formed at the end of 2003.

This first proper single, mixed by Queens Of The Stone Age producer Joe Barnes in Los Angeles, reeks of the greatness of rock 'n' roll. The riff drips cheap cider down to the floor and the perpetually strong hammering of the drums is manic. The vocals have a rough, no bulls***t Courtney Love kind of attitude so you can imagine what kind of live band they are.

With an EP (You Leave Me/Like I Care) under their belt and some very positive reviews on their trail, McQueen have a lot to get drunk about. We have to to wait until their debut album (You Had It Coming To Ya) is unleashed, but this initial single is a juicy taster of things to come.
