The first thing you have to do with Mighty Six Ninety (named after a San Diego radio station - executives take note) is suspend total disbelief that this is the real voice of singer Rich Gardner.
Providing one's not inclined to baulk at his amazingly Morrisey-esque vocals however, Keeping You in Mind is a laudable and whirling track of hopeless romanticism that stands head and shoulders above standard indie fare, Gardner lovelorn and laying it out there in thrillingly honest and poignant style.
Special mention goes to the Kids label, who'll be losing money on every copy of this single sold, after spending all the profits from past releases from iLiKETRAiNS and The Whip on a full-colour gatefold sleeve image by renowned Brooklyn graffiti artist John 'Crash' Motos that alone should be worth your two English pounds.
A diverse spirit is thriving in this particular corner of Indiedom, and Mighty Six Ninety have the soul and songs to be its newest troubadours.
