No, this isn't the reason that Alan Milburn declined a role in the new Labour Government. Instead, Milburn are the latest in a seemingly endless line of post-Libertines, guitar heavy, indie-punk bands currently vying for your attention.

Don't be quick to dismiss this Sheffield four-piece as belonging in the same bargain bin as The Others though. Lipstick Lickin' has a pleasing pop sensibility behind the 100mph guitar riffs which brings to mind none other than Supergrass. Back up track Cheshire Cat Smile is more laid back, but equally successful in establishing Milburn as a name to watch for.

The claim on the band's press release that they're "breaking musical moulds with their unique sound" is frankly laughable, but there's a certain quality here that should stand them in good stead in the future.
