Having supported Electric 6 and having had their previous release be an NME single of the week, Moco's new single comes out courted by high expectations.

Miss Mantaray hits off with a simple four note guitar line, and a fine signature line it turns out to be on repeated listening. Steve Jones' tinny Iggy Pop vocals come in over the top and underneath is the fast bass and rhythm of claps.

It's got a chorus as catchy as pop, but Anthony Rigby's guitar is as violent as Iggy's old backing band - "I'm so in love with you and all the stupid things you do." And the song climaxes with Jones' vocal bursting at the seams with that controlled out-of-control feel. It's an energetic well-written piece of rock 'n roll - expectations met.
