"Moco are one part punk rock n'roll and one part worrying mental condition." So says their publicity - possibly based on their retro habit of smashing up equipment on stage before being ejected from venues...

Whatever, the exciting sounds on this single - rough, tough and irresistible - and the excellent vocals by Steve 'Mobile' Jones make me want to rush out to catch the next live performance. The lyrics of Where She Goes may not be the greatest ("when I see her I spit on my hands... I wanna see if you have tricks in your pants"), but the energy is infectious.

Likewise Dirty Love may not quite match up to the classic of that name by Frank Zappa, but it's still good fun. After all the hype about The White Stripes and The Strokes being the saviours of rock'n'roll, I'd rather put my money on Moco any day.
