The Mooney's have their third album due out soon, and have knocked out an Alive & Amplified starter for your pleasure. Fresh from an appearance in Jack Black's School Of Rock, the Mooney's have a lot to say about, y'know, the state of the world and, as US citizens, how responsible they feel for the sins of rampant consumption.
Actually none of that occurs on this EP. Mooney Suzuki are far more concerned about how they are, and I quote, "gonna blow my speakers and my mind", and have the sheer chutzpah to ask the £64,000 dollar question, "do you wanna get loose 'n' juicy?". I think you'll agree this makes them more rock 'n' roll than the latest Brit-wingers like Keane or whoever.
Daft lyrics abound, punctuated by some space-rock solos, and ChinnyChap production values. The world stopped in 1973, and Alive & Amplified is prima facie evidence. Still, they sound like they're having fun, so what of it?
