Muse - Stockholm Syndrome (EastWest)
release date: 14 July 2003
Muse - Stockholm Syndrome

buy music
Devon's finest return after a year's absence with a single that is only available on the internet.

Stockholm Syndrome has everything including the kitchen sink: an intro of razor-sharp guitar riffs that would keep any hard rock band busy; a barrage of tribal drums with Matt Bellamy's angelic voice floating over the top; a neo-classical, piano-led chorus; and a full-metal racket to finish.

Stockholm Syndrome is more evidence that, as time goes on, Muse's loud and heavy tendencies are moving ever closer to the fore. If they can come up with a new album of songs containing this many diverse elements but which hang together so well, they will, quite simply, trample all over the opposition, heavy or not.
