If Muse's previous single, the download-only Stockholm Syndrome, was the heaviest thing they'd ever done, then Time Is Running Out is certainly the catchiest.
It still rocks like a monster, mind, but this time the crunch is timed for maximum effect. There is a funky bass-line, some real-life finger-clicking (which, bizarrely, seems like the only correct response) and, after a typically warbly verse, a crescendo into a Wembley Arena-sized chorus à la Plug In Baby.
In contrast to the song title, Muse's time is only just beginning. With two singles of this calibre already, the new album, Absolution, looks destined for greatness.
