Was it worth it? If that's the question I am not sure of the answer. This London based four piece have a firm grasp of the stripped down garage rock archetype. They are just the right side of the rock/metal divide. The two tracks here are nice and sleazy, brash, primitive and primal.

The drums and bass lock into a kind of anti groove, no thrills and no fills. A heavyweight thwack of bass and snare square on the beat. The guitar riffs are heavy, distorted and ugly. The vocals growled out. Yes, it bites and brawls like Russell Crowe and a New York wage slave. Yet it lacks something. Something vital, that indefinable "x" that turns good bands into great ones.

It's like The Stooges minus Iggy's raw power or the Asheton brothers' metallic K.O. It lacks the urgency, the fear and adrenaline rush that powers the great garage anthems. Worth It? Maybe - there are the seeds of something great here, and I imagine that live they really kick arse. It just needs someone to capture their power in a studio setting.
