Natascha Sohl is the latest in a long line of feisty singer/songwriters, who specialises in a furiously strummed guitar and angry lyrics. Ah, an Alanis/Avril clone can I hear you mutter?

Well, kind of. Sohl is obviously in thrall to the Lavignes and Morissettes of this world, but she's more than a mere copyist. Give It All Away is a superior piece of guitar pop which boasts a frighteningly catchy chorus and a smooth production job that would see this slot quite nicely into the charts.

The real gem here though is the B-side, Are You Ready. A live acoustic performance from Sohl, she displays a superb guitar technique and a soulful voice that should see her dispel those Alanis-lite jibes.

- John Murphy
