22-year-old Natasha Bedingfield is undoubtedly the current darling of the pop-scene. This isn't an unjust title for the lass who's got two top five singles and a number one album from just three releases. She has recently scooped a Smash Hits T4 award so it's not been a bad 2004.
Although "quality" and "pop" aren't two words you'll find me using together very often at all, there's always an exception to any rule, and Unwritten certainly breaks that mould. There's a scary parallel to this song and Alanis Morissette Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie - not a bad thing at all.
To be fair to my anti-pop roots there is a bit of a comedy moment as Natasha's vocals are taken over by a gospel choir but I'll forgive that momentary slip. It certainly seems there's not too much Miss Bedingfield can do wrong and another top five hit beckons with this single.
