By the age of eighteen, your average new adult
might still be in education or be employed. It's
unlikely they'll have gone the same way as Natasha
Thomas, who is on her second artist album, owns her
own record label and was the Lacoste face of 2004.
Which is where Skin Deep comes in; a re-recorded
version of an advert for said company's "touch of
pink". As a scent, it's sweet smelling but loses its
potency very quickly - pretty routine, as R&B
flavoured pop singles go. Polished within an inch of
its life, the radio sheen is telling, so it's off to
the R&B version for a bit more urban sensibility.
"Get to the beauty within," exhorts the chanteuse.
Well, we might if the studio engineers let us. That
said, a potential lies within for a big commercial hit
- Thomas clearly has some savvy as to what makes the
charts tick.
