Your average 17-year-old lad is mainly focused on getting that pink bit of plastic that qualifies you to torment neighbourhoods with ridiculous bass-lines and bad wheel spins (heck, that was me two years ago). But for Nathan Fagan-Gayle, his focus is on creating that noise.
Not that it's bad noise, far from it. Come Into My Room is as thrilling a debut single from a UK artist for a long while. The tight vocals are akin to Lemar's but with a youthful exuberance reminiscent of Craig David before that outing with Sting sent everything downhill.
The single also displays the versatility of the track and the artist, the Syklone remix could be mistaken for the best of B2K. There's even a shout to the three years Nathan spent in Jamaica with the Vybz Kartel remix giving that dancehall vibe.
