There's nowt wrong with completely ripping of Depeche Mode's seminal piece of early '80s electronica People Are People, but honestly Neon Neon, you could have had the decency to give them credit where it's due.
Super Furry Animals' Gruff Rhys has teamed up with Los Angeles producer Boom Bip and Welsh songstress Cate Le Bon (I say again, this 80s obsession can be taken too far...), joined by engineer John DeLorean, to bring us a perfectly listenable slice of '80s synth-pop that's updated itself by taking bits from Beck, bits from a thousand other places and woven them all together into something eminently listenable and danceable.
The fact that it's been all over the radio like a rash for the last couple of weeks probably means you're sick of it already. If not, take it as a good indication of what the upcoming album Stainless Style will sound like.
Still think it counts as stealing when you don't give Dave Gahan and the lads a credit for nicking their synth riffs, though.
