Following the classic New Order sound reprise that was Krafty, this new single brings Bernard Sumner and co firmly into the 21st century, aided by the fashionable Ana Matronic of Scissor Sisters.

With spot-on production and a catchy synth beep in the chorus, Jetstream is a sedate affair that would grace a snowboarding or surf slo-mo video. But the lyrics seem to have been added as an afterthought to the utterly conventional pop music structure.

It's the catchy pop sensibility that saves Jetstream from inanity - this is a song you won't be able to forget in a hurry. It's not the best track on new album Waiting For The Sirens' Call, but Jetstream leaves much else in its wake.
