British innuendo replaces surrealist cool, but most other things about New Young Pony Club are on a thrilling parallel to Brazilian electro heroes CSS.

There's the driving beats, the elaborate, cut-throat squelches, the consummate-loon production, and of course the (Cansei De Ser) sexy swagger. The Bomb swims the lush vapour trail of the last NYPC single Ice Cream with abundant allure, and the key here is this is electro-sex-music that actually invites you onto the same dance-floor, rather than forbids you to get within a three-hundred-mile radius.

There'll always be bands that snarl and posture at the expense of any known fun, but here's another who's music is its absolute embodiment. Hold my glitter ball for a moment - I think I'm on fire!
