It's a close call as to which is front runner for the Least Surprising Event of the Year award. Is it the fact that the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls has gone solo, or the fact that her first single features a guest appearance from Will I Am?
The song itself is a fairly cheesy and disinteresting piece of mid-tempo pop, and a long way from the thinly veiled innuendo of the Dolls' records. She's evidently decided to clean herself up for middle America, but jumping straight from lyrics and videos that were practically soft porn into music that's the aural equivalent of chintz curtains may be trying to do too much too soon.
Still, it's already scraped into the Top 40 on downloads alone and reached the dizzying heights of number 27 in Bulgaria, and there's never been much accounting for taste in the run up to the festive season, so who knows. Maybe she'll surprise us all later with something really original, like a duet with Wyclef Jean.
