A Notting Hill hit if ever there was one. African
Pirates is one of the more up tempo tracks from the
album In A Space Outta Sound, and is totally driven by
the authentic percussion and vocal sample, swinging
its booty in the face of anyone who happens to pass
by.
Of interest to diehards will be the mixes from
Troubleman, who keeps a simple bass over which
to add some psychedelic organ stabs, the jumpy rhythm
even more danceable than George Evelyn's original
album version.
Finally JD73 contribute a mildly jazzy take
with a similarly strong rhythm track, meaning that if
this single was put on random, any of the four tracks
would service a party with no questions asked.
