There's not a lot to recommend in this fairly middle-of-the road soft rock from Florida's Nothing Rhymes With Orange. Despite claims that their influences hail mostly from Britpop, they sound more like Billy Idol than The Smiths or Blur.

There is something of an early '90s twang to their sound, but it's culled more from grunge-lite or Bryan Adams riffs. This isn't to say they aren't listenable in a Radio 2 afternoon show way, and that may well mean that they will prove to be a big hit in the suburbs, but they're lacking anything in the way of edge or originality.

Rather than the outlaw anti-hero Billy The Kid, it's the title of the single's B-side that best describes their sound: Magnolia. That, and the fact the idea of listening to a whole album of this is about as appealing as watching paint dry.
