International hip-hop trio One Self has bombed with their latest single Paranoid - a dark, dissonant track which leaves the sultry Yarah Bravo sounding like a strangled bag of cats.

This tune grates rather than gyrates and appears to be the outcome of studio induced cabin fever coupled with a good dose of narcotics induced paranoia. It is a harsh, cacophonous, mish-mash and post production tinkering fails to improve it.

The J Styles remix is a speed-rap Eminem wanna-be and the whiny instrumental version is a dull addition, not a bonus track. However this desultory single does comes packaged with two far superior additions. Firstly; Overexposed. A sexy little song featuring spoken word poetry from Ms Bravo a la soul diva Jill Scott. And secondly, Come Along, another seriously seductive tune slightly reminiscent of Michael Franti's Spearhead and of exactly the kind of calibre you would expect to be backed by Ninja Tunes.
