Hip hop DJ and producer Vadim is back with a brand new project One Self, featuring his own talented knob-twiddling alongside up and coming female MC Yarah Bravo and American MC Blu Rum.

Be Your Own is not Vadim as you know and love him, and is sure to divide listeners in opinion: On a stripped-back bed of haunting Eastern beats and sounds, the MCs roll their choppy verses into two lulling chorus lines. Their distinct styles and voices are strong enough to string the track along with worryingly hypnotic grace.

Amp Fiddler provides two remixes, the second of which is a swathe of funk-fuelled cotton wool, but they don't come close to the quirk of the radio edit. Some may label it simple experimentalism, but they will admit it is of the most refined nature. Look out for the forthcoming album Children Of Possibilities for more cultured trials.
