Love Razorlight? Like The Pigeon Detectives? Think Milburn could well be the most under-rated band of the decade so far? Then you're going to love Operahouse.

Very much in that mould of anthemic indie-guitar bands, there's nothing new or original about Born A Boy. And I mean, nothing at all. It's got the ramshackle energy of The View. the singalong chorus so beloved of The Fratellis and lead singer Johnny Lloyd does such a good Borrell impression that on first hearing you may well think it's a Chris Morris parody of Razorlight.

So, must be good, eh? Well, no, it's not. It's utterly, utterly depressing and mediocre in the extreme. When your main aim in life is to sound like every other run-of-the-mill indie guitar band, then that's nothing to be too proud of. What's even more depressing is that it will probably be incredibly successful, precisely due to that lack of innovation.
