There are pubes attached to the outer sleeve of my copy of this CD, which is something of a first. It doesn't seem to be stuck with anything; it just appears to be growing out of the card. This is also something of a first and I would be planning to use it to claim the Nobel Prize somehow if I could draw my attention away from this cracking little tune.

Having supported the likes of Arctic Monkeys and Kaiser Chiefs you would expect Operator Please to be your run of the mill "indie" anthem band but you would be wrong. Certainly Leave It Alone strays into anthem territory but there is so much more going on here than just a straight forward rock record. Maybe it's the violin of Taylor Henderson or the weirdly cute vocals of Amandah but this a carefully crafted piece of garage rock with blinding rays of pop sunshine beaming from its beating heart.

If you remember The Gossip before they became all dancey, then Operator Please will strike a considerable chord. With any luck this bunch of Australians could just make everyone sit up and take notice, because they are obviously more than capable of making music that has considerable depth and yet still manages to inspire an irrepressible need to dance.
