Australia has developed a habit in recent times of producing quirky, exuberant bands whose songs are the aural equalivalent of a shot of caffeine straight to the brain. We had The Grates a couple of years ago, and now Operator Please are treading a similar path.
Get What You Want is a short, sharp buzz of energy, whilst being listeneable, catchy, and - yes - commercial. It's still got an edge to it, mainly thanks to singer Amandah Wilkinson's somewhat manic vocal, but the chorus will stay bouncing round your head for a very long time.
It's receiving rather a lot of radio play as well, so this could well be Operator Please's commercial breakthrough. If so, it'll be well deserved.
