The backroom staff for the Orange Lights may well be better known than the band themselves. Coldplay producer Ken Nelson chose to work with them before they had a record label, while finishing touches are added by highly respected studio men Chris Potter and Chris Lord-Alge. There's nothing particularly wrong with the sound and the song is an accomplished one, but it fails to really excite and rise above the mundanity of mid Monday morning radio. Coldplay-type falsettos appear for the central passage, before the "love is what you want, love is what you need to set you free" chorus, and the balladeers are home and dry.
And while it might fall into the ‘emotive pop/rock category, it does so with a whimper rather than anything too pronounced. Inoffensive, then - but not especially memorable either.
