Hollywood hopefuls Orson have been hailed by Radio 1 as the missing link between The Rolling Stones and Scissor Sisters. To say that Orson boast even a tenth of The Rolling Stones' genius would be a gross overstatement.
Debut single, No Tomorrow, is about lead singer (Jason Pebworth) being in love with a reformed drinker, going to a rave with her, and subsequently realising he's not in love with her after all. Hardly narrative gold.
No Tomorrow features a solid rhythm section, spiky guitars and a huge chorus, which, once it's buried itself in your head, like shit from a shoe, takes some shifting. Fair enough. But there's just something very wrong with this song. It's so clichéd and camp. The foul stench of good boy pop is, unfortunately, this song's downfall.
