Hailing from the magical kingdom of Hull, The Paddingtons are another band in the flogged-horse mould of The Libertines - noisy, punky and ever so slightly out of tune (I hear they hate the comparison, but it's virtually impossible to avoid).
Sorry is an abrasive effort, with lead singer Tom Atkins' vocals lounging drunkenly over a frenetic chords-by-numbers track: "Is it over, is it over? I cannot tell," he moans in his pseudo-slur, subtly confident of landing a place in the heart of angsty hipsters throughout the land.
Don't get me wrong - this is perfectly competent stuff, and it may even get the pulse racing every now and then. The trouble is simply that The Paddington's sound is so derivative that I cannot muster the energy to care, and even found myself asking Atkins' question towards the end. Please, fellas - you've conquered the humdrum. Now invest in a moog and try something new.
