Shellshock is not usually a pleasant experience, except when Part Chimp are involved. Anyone who has experienced them live will know what an invigorating band they are: Amps are driven to the point of meltdown, drums are pounded into bloody submission and the audience are usually left wondering happened to their ability to hear anything other than a high pitched whine that seems to emanate from the very centre of their heads.

War Machine captures the live sound of Part Chimp perfectly. It's such a loud single that it practically jumps out of the speakers and tries to strangle you. It's the noise of revolution: Part Chimp sound like an advancing troop of Panzer tanks - Panzer tanks that are advancing on the Top Of The Pops studios. They're smashing through the wall, through the banks of cameramen, and over the stage.

Over the hum of engines all you can hear is the deafening refrain from War Machine's B-side Mister Chimp: "A FUCKING GOOD FEEL GOOD FEELING!" The last thing anyone sees on their TV's before the screen goes blank is Geri Halliwell's head exploding under the caterpillar tracks of a black tank adorned with Part Chimp decals as its turret turns towards the last cameraman standing. This is music to wake up to.
