Don't you just wish, once in a while, that Bella Union would sign someone rubbish, just for the sake of surprise?

Wouldn't it be at least mildly more interesting if Peter van Poehl was some terrible poodle-permed pub rocker instead of a beautifully fragile melodic pop minstrel laying in front of us exactly the type of music you'd expect when he shares a label with Stephanie Dosen and Fionn Regan that was set up by ex-Cocteau Twin Simon Raymonde?

Ah, we can't complain. The Story Of The Impossible contains the usual beauty buried not too far beneath the slightly icy surface of this mesmerising track by a young Swede who is already a big hit in France and is likely to follow that up with as just as much of a following here. Folky, ethereal, forest in the dawn mist tunes such as this are never going to overstay their welcome. Of course we like him.
