Have Plain White T's been listening to Nickelback recently? It certainly sounds like it because the follow up to the wicked Hey There Delilah at times sounds like a blatant rip off of How You Remind Me - don't pretend you don't remember it.
So, the fact that they earned themselves a mass fanbase expansion with their last single, and now want to be Nickelback sound-a-likes is a troublesome fact that perhaps needs addressing in the ranks of Plain White T's. Urgently.
If there's one saving grace it would be that the singer's voice is demonstrably technically good. But the melodies have been heard a thousand times. And the lyrics are shit. It all sounds very done-before, and maybe I'm cynical, but it sounds like Plain White T's are trying to sound as generic as possible to appeal to as large an audience as possible to sell as many units as possible. Not good.
