Minimal dub's number proprietor Stefan Betke (AKA Pole) brings us 90/90, the follow-up to his critically acclaimed 45/45. Technically an EP, this release boasts 4 tracks on minimal goodness.

The main selling point here is that Pole, for the first time, features vocals in the form of Ohio-based rapper Fat Jon on lead track Slow Motion. His almost-conversational delivery reminds of The Streets, minus the Cockney accent.

90/90 is exceptionally chilled. However, one comes away feeling strangely slow rather than relaxed. It's not going to get any mainstream success, but fans of minimal dub will no doubt find this a welcome addition to their collection. Imagine what Mike Skinner and Royksopp would come up with on downers - that is the sound of Pole.
