To describe Miss Lucifer, the Scream's first single since 2000's Accelerator, as "electronic garage band future rock'n'roll", as Bobby Gillespie has done, is to veer somewhat wide of the mark.
What we have here is brooding, dark and rather fine Scream - psychadelic, rhythmic, energetic, pounding and rousing. It sounds like they've stuck an arpeggiator on and taken some leaves out of leftfield psychadelic techno genius Alec Empire's book.
The brooding Empire himself contributes some overwhelming remixes of the main track as the B-sides to the single.
