The latest single from the experimental - and somewhat bonkers - electronica outfit Psapp is pretty much as quirky as they are. As the opening track to debut album The Only Thing I Ever Wanted, itís another insight into the bizarre world of Carim Clasmann and Galia Durant.
Amidst the accompanying jagged guitar riffs, homemade percussion, whirs, clicks, boinks and splashes of water, Durantís honeyed vocals provide the eye of the hurricane. They form the centre of an off-centre piece, and give the whole thing the grounding reality that it would just be a cacophonous muddle without.
Trivia fans may take note that theyíre also responsible for the theme to the TV show Greyís Anatomy, and on listening to Hi, itís easy to understand why the duo have been credited with creating a new style of music know as toytronica. You can safely abandon yourself into its utter randomness, in the sure knowledge that they, and you, will get there eventually.
