The Raconteurs' singles so far have shown off Brendan Benson's more sugary side, with Steady As She Goes and Hands being enjoyable little guitar pop tunes. The title track though is where Jack White steps up to the mic, with the predictably incendiary results.

White's howl sounds more like Robert Plant than ever, yelping lyrics that could be about someone with a Peter Pan complex ("I'm child and man and child again, the boy never gets older") while the band lay down a frightening squall of psychedelic-ish guitar riffs and feedback.

Superb stuff then, and more evidence that, far from what initially looked like White and Benson's side-project could well become a far more permanent fixture.
