Not having tuned into this Radio 4 previously, I was expecting Lydon-ish yelps, subterranean Wobble bass, and high levels of Metal Box post-dub alienation. Imagine my surprise then to be confronted instead with this Disco Punk hymn to liggers and hangers-on that is strongly reminiscent of nothing less than pre-crap Simple Minds.

They've got 1981 down pat too. The word "fashion" features quite a lot, and with great seriousness, just like it should be. And when you've got the chutzpah to rhyme it with passion, you know these new gold dreamers are on to a winner.

For my money though, all time-travelling kudos goes to Ballistic Brother Ashley Beedle who drenches his After Dark Vocal Mix in finest Italian-House piano just like it's actually 1991. Now where did I put that calendar? I'm sure I left 2004 around here somewhere...
