Light years away from Gardeners' Question Time and The Archers exists another Radio 4 - five New Yorkers with spikey guitar riffs and attitude to match.

While the current crop of retro guitar bands are intent on aping the whole of the US punk canon, here is a band who have taken more of an English turn by referencing The Clash instead. With elements of almost every well known Clash song in this one single - from a rough'n'ready Joe Strummer-esque vocal through to a Guns of Brixton-style bassline - there's even a hint of Rock the Casbah in there too.

Eyes Wide Open looks sure to send gig goers pogoing when Radio 4 inevitably visit these shores for some live action. While not completely blown away by this single, I'm encouraged enough to watch their progress with interest.
