Twisted sarcasm comes no more bittersweet than from
German techno grindsters Rammstein. Causing
controversy and conflict where ever they go, I sense
the industrial quintet do themselves few favours when
courting trouble. (What with their previous single
centring on a real life cannibalism case.)
Featuring Germanic verses and an English chorus,
latest effort Amerika is about as subtle as a football
hooligan with a megaphone. "Weíre all living in
Amerika, Coca Cola, Wonder bra, Weíre all living in
Amerika, itís wunderbar!" Chants Till Lindemann atop a
menacing metal frenzy, complete with tongue in cheek
choir.
All thatís missing is a sample of George W.
telling us all how safe the world is, but perhaps even
shock rockers know their limits.
