"It's a chance of a lifetime!" declares Rapture front man Luke Jenner in his trademark excitable high pitch vocal during Get Myself Into It, his band's official comeback single after almost three years in the musical wilderness.
Now, if he's referring to The Rapture and their possible transition from impossibly cool underground dance rockers who were namedropped by people with sharp haircuts and tight jeans to an act that may well sit alongside Razorlight and Snow Patrol on Radio X's drive time play list, he may be onto something.
You see, by the sounds of this single, they've quite clearly seen this chance of a lifetime (to sell more records, to play bigger venues), and decided to seize it with both hands. Indeed, Get Myself Into It is the quartet's most commercial piece to date, and will come as a slight shock to fans who were expecting another House Of Jealous Lovers.
But while they may have gone a bit pop, they haven't lost an ounce of the vitality that made them so appealing in the first place. The production remains as mind-bending as ever before, the chorus is as memorable as anything they've previously mustered, and with a saxophone weaving around underneath it all, this still sounds like the best trip you've ever had at the best party you've ever been to. Just remember to buy your ticket early this time round.
